HOW CAN CHRISTIANITY
INTERFACE
WITH ASTROLOGY
WITHOUT COMPROMISE?

For since the
creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power
and divine
nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has
been made, so that
people are without excuse.

HOW CAN I BE A CHRISTIAN AND PRACTICE ASTROLOGY?
http://www.drstandley.com/astrologycharts_astrochartingfaqs.shtml
Q. Being a Christian,
how do I justify practicing astrology with what it says in the Bible?
A. I find it odd that
we can follow a man-made map to Idaho or the next town, but we cannot follow a
God-made map that has been in place since the beginning of time . . . Genesis,
to be precise! Genesis means, "origin, birth, beginning."
And God said,
"Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from
the night; and let them be for "signs," and for seasons, and for
days, and years: - Genesis 1:14
What does "and
let them be for signs" mean? I believe He placed those signs in the sky to
help us along our path. To give us insight and direction.
I also find it odd
that society approves of following a meteorologists forecast, but an
astrological forecast is out of the question. I just don't agree with that kind
of logic (if there is any). Meteorology is a forecast! The degree of likelihood
about an impending storm would be easy to forecast or a sunny day for that
matter, but the wind can change at any minute. Astrology can predict the future but it does not absolutely tell your future because
that would eliminate your 'free will'. I feel that if you eliminate 'free will'
then you eliminate God and that is impossible because God gave us the gift of
'free will'. Anyone can make a prediction about the future
but it does not mean their prediction will be right because of the 'free will
over-ride'.
When bad things
happen to Good people, sometimes people get angry at
God, but we have to remember that 'human beings have free will." God will
not take away our 'free will'. It was a gift that He will not take back. If we
drive drunk, that is our 'free will' and we will pay
for it. If a terrorist slides a plane into a skyscraper like a tape into a VCR
player, that is not God, it is the horrific side of a human being and what he
chose to do with his 'free will'. God will not interfere with our 'free will'.
I do believe that we have Angels from God whispering in our ears all the time
in order to influence our Good behavior, but even
Angels cannot interfere with our 'free will'. We are the ones who ultimately
choose.
Imagine if you knew
ahead of time a predicted scenario and how you can invoke your 'free will' and
be prepared to make better decisions.
When consulting with
my clients, I let them know the negative and positive of a given planetary
aspect and what each side looks like. The client ultimately decides which road
he/she will travel. It is fairly easy to predict if a
woman will run back to a man who beats her, "because she Loves him"
and how long it will probably take before she moves on. Again, it is all 'free
will' and she 'gets to' choose how many times she will repeat herself.
I feel that God gave
us a map and certain people (like myself) who are gifted to read the map. I
didn't create the stars, constellations and planetary energies,
but I do understand them, how they work and how to use them. Folks, I just read
the map that God created. Plain and simple.
And let's not forget
about the North Star, which led the 3 Magi to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I would say that is a pretty big sign. Do you know
what Magi means? Take a guess.
Now when Jesus was
born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came
wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is
He that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and
are come to worship him. - Matthew 2:1-2
When they heard the
king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before
them, till came and stood over where the young child was. When they saw the
star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. - Matthew 2:9-10
Even Jesus makes a
reference to the "signs," which will tell us what will be going on
over the earth.
There will be
powerful earthquakes, famines, and plagues from place to place; and awesome
sights and mighty "signs" will come from the sky. - Luke 21:11
And there shall be
"signs" in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the
earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring. -
Luke 21:25
What do you suppose
Jesus means when he says, "signs will come from the sky." Or when he
says, "signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars."
Q. Being a 'Bold in
the Name of Jesus' type of Christian, what is my position on astrology?
A. Astrology does not
take the place of God. Astrology is a guide or a tool to help you get to the
place that you desire to be. It's a map, so to speak, much like a Trip-Tik from
AAA. Follow the map and you'll get there just fine (and on time too). Further,
everything is dependent upon our 'free will'. Everything! Therefore, we can invoke
our free will and "choose" to respond negatively or positively to any
given scenario. Certainly astrology can 'predict' or
'forecast' but that does not mean that it will be accurate because YOU have
'free will', which could change the outcome at any time. You 'get to' choose.
But then again, astrology can point out the negative and positive aspects of a
given scenario and when you choose, it is amazing how indeed accurate it is
when you take into account both sides of the decision.
Knowing both sides ahead of time certainly keeps us on track and off the
detoured back roads of Life.
For the cynics, I
find it interesting that it is okay to follow a metereologist's
forecast or outlook, yet they poo-poo an astrologer's forecast or outlook. I
also find it interesting by the cynics that it is okay to follow a road map to
get to the place that you desire to be, yet an astrological road map has no
merit. I think if you can read a road map (that is man-made) or a follow a meterologist forecast (that is man-made), then you can read
a star/astrology map that God-made. We have maps to get us where we want to go
on earth, and another map that is in the sky.
Further, in
astrology, just as in meterology, a forecast does not
necessarily mean that it will happen. This is because we have "free
will" and can make a Life changing decision at any minute, just as the
weather can change direction at any minute. Even if the astrological forecast
says one thing, you still get to choose with your 'free will'. There are negative
and positive decisions with everything and you 'get to' choose. We can choose
to act and react to a given situation either negatively or positively. And in meterology, there is only so much a metereologist
can forecast, but the weather will do as the weather pleases, (i.e. "Free Will of Nature.")
We were all born with
special gifts, certain energies and different circumstances, and when we are
aware of these qualities we can "choose" to use them to our
advantage, thereby increasing our ability and likelihood of calling Good things into our Life. Everyone, and I mean everyone was
born with challenges to overcome, but it is precisely those challenges that are
meant to get you to the place that you are suppose to
be. You don't have to learn from a challenge. You can sit in it and stew about
it if you 'choose' to.
We all experience
some form of abuse, misuse, disuse, overuse and reuse
at any given time in our Life. We can invoke our 'free will' and be angry,
blame someone else, go to jail, overspend, overeat, drink ourselves into an
ugly stupor or smoke until we can't breathe anymore. It's all part of the
lesson. We 'get to' choose the negative or positive based on our experiences.
In astrology, taking into account all of the planetary
energies surrounding a person, we can certainly forecast or predict what that
person's next move might be. If a person is conscious of their negative
tendencies, they will probably embrace the positive side of the whole scenario
and Life changes in a positive direction.
Even ancient texts like the Bible describe this ;
Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades
(constellation of stars), or loose the bands of Orion? Job Chapter 38, verse 31
Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth
in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons? 38:32
Knowest
thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the
earth? 38:33

Early Christians
believed in some form of astrology.
As Amy E. Richter
notes, this knowledge is also taught by agents of God.
In 1 En. 80:1, Uriel says to Enoch, I have revealed everything
to you so that you may see this sun and this moon and those who lead the stars
of the sky and all those who turn them their work, their times, and their
emergences.
Im seeing this
difference: Knowledge taught by rebel angels is aimed at changing and
controlling the physical world for personal gain.
The good angels teach
the prophet to see and understand the system.

EXCERPTS ;
For Origen the stars
are heavenly writings, which the angels and the divine powers are able to read
well . . . The stars are, like the Bible itself, a text capable of being read.
Either can be misread as well.
But anti-astrology
picks up with the Catholic period, when Augustine of Hippo denounces it, and
that continues in the Christian culture to this dayon no scriptural evidence.
The truth is that
the Old Testament does speak against a large number of occult arts (e.g., Ex
22:18; Deut 18:10), but astrology is not among them,
notes Hard Sayings of the Bible.
A usual Christian
argument against astrology is that it makes free will impossible.
But dont Christians love prophesybelieving those texts describe a
future that is fixed and unalterable? If free will was a Christian value,
wouldnt that be prohibited?
But astrology, in actuality, isnt suggesting any such thing.
Its an effort at
interpreting time, suggests Von Stuckrad. Based on
the doctrine of correspondences it developed different branches where people
sought to gain insight into the meaning of past, present, and future events.

5:20
God portrays truth in
the stars in
poetic
fashion. Before any Scripture was written,
Gods truth in the
stars inspired the patriarchs.
If the Scriptures are
the lyrics, the stars are the music to
which the words are
set.
The study of truth in
the stars is not
astrology,
divination, or any other perversion of the
truth.
The most reliable
source of star names,
constellation names,
and constellation pictures are the
Hebrew
ones. The next most
reliable are the
Arab names, then the
Egyptian, Persian, and Babylonian
names,
and last of all the
Greek names.
Personally, we only
pay attention to the Hebrew and Arab
names.
Exactly 48 star signs were identified
by God. Modern
astronomers have created other star signs in
the
sky. These have no
meaning whatsoever.
Modern astronomers
have also divided some of the ancient
star signs, e.g. Argo, into smaller
constellations. This
is also an error.
PRESUPPOSITIONS
From the
Judeo-Christian perspective
the following
assumptions are basic to understanding the
stars:
· God created the
heavens and the
earth and all that is
in them (Gen 1:1)
· The stars serve a
purpose of
spiritual guidance
(dividing light and darkness Gen 1:18)1
· God named the stars
(Psalm 147:4)
· God numbered the
stars ( Isaiah
40:26)2
· The stars declare
the glory of God
(Psalm 19:1) - the
knowledge they contain is truth.
KEYS TO
INTERPRETATION
Star signs do not sit
in the sky alone:
they are surrounded
by other star signs. The position of the
Star
Sign is vital to its
interpretation.
Star signs also have
a position relative to the path of the
sun and Milky
Way that is also
important. To
interpret a star sign
we look at:
· Star Sign Picture (E.g. Virgo is a
woman)
· Star Sign Name
(Virgos Hebrew
name is Bethulah which means Virgin)
· Individual stars
names in the
Sign (E.g. Spica is the brightest star in Virgo, it means
The Branch)
1
The guidance is
concerning general
spiritual knowledge
and future prophetic events; it is not
personal guidance
based on star
alignments for
individuals (i.e. astrology)
2
In the Eastern
thinking, number is
equivalent to meaning

PROOF GOD WROTE THE BIBLE !
using the first seven
words of the
Bible in Genesis 1:1
it is possible to calculate π to 4
decimal places! Such
a feat would not have been possible for
Moses, because all
the education he received from the
Egyptians only
approximated π to 1 decimal place. This is
proof the author of
the Bible was of supreme intelligence,
much higher than man.
In fact the author
of the Bible was God,
the creator of
the universe.
As we will see later
in this paper, the
infinite number
π is not the only one that is estimated in
the Bible. God did
this so we would
recognize the Bible
is not a book of human origin. The
Bible speaks of
spiritual things, and
its author is
spiritual. To distinguish the Bible from
other
religious texts
presuming to teach
spiritual things, the
Bible contains amazing proofs.

PROPHECY IN THE STARS
BASIC LEVEL
SUMMARY. The study of
truth in the
stars is not astrology, divination, or any other perversion
of the truth.
God portrays truth in the stars in
poetic
fashion. Before any Scripture was written,
Gods truth in the
stars inspired the patriarchs.
If the Scriptures are
the lyrics, the stars are the music to
which the words are
set. See bottom of page for a
scriptural defense of
Gods Truth in the Stars.
https://biblenumbersforlife.com/7-0-stars/
This paper is our
attempt to explain
the entire sweep of
Prophecy in the Stars in a few pages.
The stars proclaim
that there is a
conflict over who
will rule the world: the Anti-God World
System or the Hebrew
Messiah. The
entire contest is
documented in the stars with the result
that the anti-God
forces are utterly
destroyed and the
Messiah is victorious in the end.
Prophecy in the Stars
tells the exact
same story as
Prophecy in the Bible. We believe One God
created Heaven and
Earth and put the
stars in the heavens
as a witness of future events
(Genesis 1:14-15 and
Psalm 19:1-6).
Knowledge in the
stars was corrupted by Astrology. But
enough truth in star
names and
constellation figures
exists that we can reconstruct their
original meaning.
Since the beginning
the constellations
were prophetic pictures designed to
help men recognize
when seminal events
in the spiritual
conflict occurred.

An Appeal To Religious Groups On The Subject Of Astrology
This is not in any
way a condemnation on a persons belief structure, but
rather an enlightening exposure to some facts that are pertinent to disclosing
certain biblical facts that can prove that astrology is an ally of religion,
specifically Judaeo-Christian beliefs.
Matter of factly, as being raised as a devout Southern Baptist
(Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member, etc), with
undertones of Jewish heritage, I'm more than aware of the abrasiveness that
exists on this topic. The failure of organized religions, particularly the baptist faith to *evolve* beyond the rigid, puritanical,
old church fathers guidance, validates my departure
from mainstream worship, today!
This is no way,
refutes or disputes the validity of Christ, his teachings, his mission on this
plane of existence. If anything, my work in astrology, has deepened my
relationship with Christ. In my studies of comparative religions, and dating
back several hundred years ago, I have found that humanity, under the rule of
the newly forming church, were more or less imprisoned
by the structure of religion.
In the Old Testament,
the Book of Numbers predicted that a Messiah would be born, and the sign for
the Messiah is a Star; God would let man know the Messiah was here by the
appearance of a Star. The Gospel of Matthew clearly states that wise men (Magi;
i.e astrologers) came from the east to Jerusalem
seeking the newborn Messiah because...they had seen his star in the east.
Christian tradition has given a name to the star that the wise men
saw...."The Star Of Bethlehem".
The simple fact of
the matter is...both the Old Testament and the New Testament contain many
references to Astrology. But unfortunately, interpretation of these references
varies greatly. Actually, I'm not an expert on Biblical interpretation,
although, its been a lifelong study of mine (Mars 9th
house, Saggitarius rising natally),
but in my opinion, there is a great deal of evidence that at least some of the
original writers of the Bible were believers in Astrology; therefore, there is
no valid reason to believe that Astrology is condemned by God. To the contrary,
the Bible specifically says that God uses the stars to give us signs and
knowledge. This is not to say that there are not some verses that could be
interpreted as being against stargazing. But there are certainly more Biblical
verses that approve of Astrology, or tell us that the
stars are messages from God, that there are verses that could be interpreted to
the contrary.
Its my opinion, that
the verses that are somewhat negative toward Astrology were in fact not meant
to be so in the original language of the scriptures. They were directed not at
astrologers of the Magi Mold, but rather against misuse by other beliefs.
At this point, I will
use the analogy of Electricity...a powerful force that
may be used beneficially or destructively. We may use it to heat our homes,
cook our meals, provide lighting, energy, or...we may use it to destroy...as in
electrocution.
Besides the fact that
astrologers from the East were the ones who foresaw the birth of Christ and they are referred to as "wise men" by
Matthew, the New Testament has some unmistakable references to astrology that
can only mean that the writers were very knowledgeable about it; perhaps they
were even practitioners. And why should they not be practitioners if Matthew
referred to the Magi, who were astrologers, as "wise men"?
As far as
astrological references in the bible...The first one that is very important is
in the Book of Genesis. It says..."And God said, Let
there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the
night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for the days and the
years;" (Genesis 1:14)
"Let (the
lights) be for Signs ....some scholars have told us
that the actual Aramaic translation literally is "let them be for signs of
things which in the ordinary course shall come to pass".. Whether or not
this is true, it is highly significant that the first purpose of the
"lights" (Planets and Stars) was for "signs"; then after
that...the purposes of the "lights" were for the "seasons",
and for the days and years.
King David is
attributed authorship of Psalm 19. I actually believe
he was referring to Astrology when he wrote..."The Heavens declare the
glory of God...Day unto day uttereth speech, and
night unto night sheweth knowledge ". What
knowledge could you possibly get at night other than....knowledge
derived from the stars and Astrology? Especially since night "sheweth" the knowledge. The only things are shown at
night are the planets and the stars.
The Book of Job has
always been my favorite study, for quite some time. Maybe this is a Scorpio
with Pluto in the 8th house thing, as it seems that Job's life there for
awhile, was quite descriptive of a major Pluto transit.
Here is a man, who is
a pretty good fella, is righteous, upstanding, abides by the laws of the land,
loves God and does his will. He becomes a pawn...in
the hands of the adversary and God...minding his own business, doing what he's suppose to do...and suddenly his life is one catastrophe
after another. I'd wager...that either he was having a Pluto transit to the 1st
house or the 8th.
First, the Sabeans
attacked him and killed all of his Oxen and servants,
except one. Another messenger comes and tells him that all of his sheep have
been burned with the rest of his servants, another comes and tells him his
camels have been taken, (The mode of transportation in that day), so he was
without wheels...killed more servants..and ultimately
another came and told him that all of his sons and daughters were partying,
when a wind came and crushed the house and killed all the men.
Job, by now, a
candidate for Ativan, forget Prozak...ripped his
clothes off, shaved his hed and fell
down on the ground and worshipped God.
And he said. "Naked came I out of my mothers
womb, and naked shall I return thither; the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken
away; blessed be the name of the Lord."
All that happened to
him...he did not sin, nor did he blame God.
Even still..his trials were not over
yet. The test continued with an attack on his health...Boils from the bottom of
his feet to the top of his head. If that wasn't bad enough, his wife started in
on him.
"Dost thou still
retain thine integrity? Curse God, and Die." Job
2:9
Well, he actually told her that she spoke like a foolish woman, and
asked her did she expect to receive everything good and never anything bad?
(Transits and Progressions)
Still after all this..Job did not blame God.
His friends gathered
around him, to help comfort him, which I'm sure given the nature of his
suffering was more like a persecution to him. His turmoil was beyond compare..his life was total
devastation of a magnitude unbelievable. The man had lost it all, and now his
body was stricken with infectious sores from head to toe.
This book is actually a good example of Karmic Retribution...inasmuch as
even today, we see people, whom we think are the most upstanding, kindhearted, righteous people on the block, who seem to
suffer calamity after calamity. Consider the baby born with multiple birth
defects, the single mother strickened with Multiple Scerosis...and we ask why? Why would such a loving
compassionate God, strike his children with such affliction? Its an Eastern word..but is means the same as the
parable of the sower...Karmic Retribution.
In Job's dialogue
with Eliphaz, he observes that no one is ever completely sinless. In no
uncertain terms Eliphaz upholds the theology of retribution. "Think about
it. What innocent ever perished? Where were the upright destroyed? I have seen
that those who plow evil and sow trouble reap the same. By God's blast they
perish and by the heat of his anger they disappear. (4:7-9)
Another speaker...Bildad.. applies the theology of retribution relentlessly.
He claims that Job's children must have been notable sinners to be treated so
brutally by God. No doubt they died justifiably.
"Can God get
justice wrong? Can Shaddai (Jewish ref for God) distort rightness? "If
your children sinned against him, he delivered them over to the consequences of
their violation. (Job 8:3-4)
Since Job is still
alive, claims Bildad, he must not be too bad a sinner.
Then Zophar adds that
Job must be suffering for his own sin. Even though Job will not admit it
publicly, he must be a sinner.
"You say, 'My
principles are pure, and I am innocent before you.' But if God would speak and
talk to you himself, and tell you the secrets of
wisdom--there are many nuances to wisdom--know that God is exacting less than
you deserve. (Job 11:4-6)
Perhaps he's trying
to tell him that Job should honestly face his sin and ask God for mercy.
Elihu speaks after
Job's other three friends have had their say. He says that suffering is the way
God communicates with human beings. It is the way God reveals that we are
sinners and that he considers sin a serious offense.
"He opens their
understanding by discipline, and orders them to turn away from wickedness. If
they listen and obey, they will end up with good days and pleasant years.
(36:10-11)
All four speakers
maintain the theology of retribution in some way. Their approach is very much
"top down." In other words, they hold a basic belief in retribution,
and they try to square Job's experience with the theological principles they
hold, rather than developing a theology out of human experience.
Karmic
Retribution...works for me! Pluto and Saturn...are Karmic Planets...and the
4th, 8th, and 12th houses are karmic houses. Astrology states, where Pluto
rests in your natal chart is where you are undergoing retribution from another
age. My Pluto is in Leo..so
I have brought back Karmic garbage from that era. Nobody knows...the karmic
retribution they will encounter from day to day. We work through karmic debts
with our friends, children, relatives, our mates, lovers. We work through
challenges, personality conflicts..on
the downside, and sometimes we get blessed with an abundance of good karmic rebounds..thats when we experience love, or close to it, the joys of
friendship, the laughter of our children when they've achieved something
special, or much needed hug from someone special. Thats
what its all about..its
those bad times, that makes the good times feel so good.
All through that
writing, about karmic retribution, I was peripherally thinking about some of
the New Age trends..with
channeling, psychic regressions, etc. Look, this is wrong..its not of God. God places the "Veil of
forgetfulness" over our eyes when we come into this realm..for a good reason. We are not meant to know
the details of our past...if we did, it would seriously alter our present, not
to mention our future. We are just humans with free will, and do not have the
capacity to delve in those areas...In astrolgical
synastry...and natal placement, we can without a doubt, ascertain karmic ties
within a chart...and depending upon the placement of certain planets and houses
come to some kind of inclination as to the nature of
the karmic tie. Thats about all we need to know.
Going further...would/could seriously alter our destiny and be out of
accordance with Divine Providence (Gods will). Always..."Wait on the gates
of heaven" is a good rule to
follow.
Soon, Job had about
all he could take...and finally opened his mouth and cursed not only the day he
was born, but the day he was conceived... "Let the day perish wherein I
was born, and the night in which it was said, There is
a man child conceived" Job 3:3
He really went into a
deep discertation...cursing his life, he was really
having a major issue here. Some of his friends were ragging him, persecuting
him...driving him on and on, Ya know..The "Everyone kicks you when you are down
syndrome!"
Throughout the
passages...we see a broken man, cast down, who by all practical purposes should
have said..Thats it..I'm checking out of here...but he didn't. He held his
own, withstood the trials and tribulations that fell upon him...and God blessed
him and restored his lot in life.
In that same book, in
Chapter 9, Job makes reference to the constellations
of the heavens. Its seemingly possible that he as well, may have practiced
astrology, or was knowledgeable of the stars. In his admonition of God
almighty, in verse 9 "Which maketh Arcturus, Orion
and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south" Job Chapter 9:9
The above passage is
one reason why, I incorporate fixed stars and constellations into my
readings...its more in depth, albeit more time consuming, but its highly
accurate.
The most profound
chapter of the book of Job for me is chapter 38, when God speaks to Job. The
content of that chapter is very powerful. God spoke to Job out of the
whirlwind...probably blew his everlovin mind.
("Hey Job..wassup?")
Lets face it, Job and his
friends have been in deep debate over this entire situation...and throughout
the wailing and ranting...I'm sure God was ready to correct their attitudes
explicitly. Come on, the fact is, God lets them know pretty
quick...how imcompetent they are to judge or
know the whys and wherefore's of his actions.
Another fact that is
quite astounding is the reference to the Great Pyramid. For those of you that
do not know...and since this follows closely with the measuring of the earth...
the Pyramid lies in the center of gravity of the continents. It also lies in
the exact center of all the land area of the world...dividing the earth's land
mass into approximately equal quarters. The north-south axis (31 degrees east
of Greenwich) is the longest land meridian, and the east-west axis (30 degrees
north) is the longest land parallel on the globe. There is obviously only one
place that these longest land-lines of the terrestrial
earth can cross, and it is at the Great Pyramid! I've always more or less
believed that the origin of our belief was closely tied in with Egypt. The
verse referenced below...should confirm that...but Thats
another page...!
"Where was thou
when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare if thou hast
understanding". Chapter 38:4
"Who hath laid
the measures, thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath
stretched the line upon it?" Chapter 38:5
"Whereupon are
the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
(undoubtedly meaning...the Great Pyramid) Chapter 38:6
Another Old Testament
reference to the Great Pyramid is pretty inclusive, to
say the least, as it does depict the placement. "At that time there will
be an altar for the LORD in the middle of Egypt and a monument to the LORD at
the border of Egypt. 20 This will be a sign and a witness to the LORD
All-Powerful in the land of Egypt. When the people cry to the LORD for help, he
will send someone to save and defend them. He will rescue them from those who
hurt them." Isaiah 19:19-20
Another area that
depicts astrological constellations and the Zodiac (Mazzaroth=Animal
Wheel)
"Can you bind
the chains of the Pleiades, or loose the cords of Orion? Can you lead forth the
Mazzaroth in their season, or can you guide the
(Arcturus in KJV) Bear with its children? Do you know the ordinances of the heavens?
Can you establish their rule on the earth?" Job 38:31-33 RSV
The Bear is what we
call the "Great Dipper," and it points unerringly to the north. (If
you stay up all night in the open and observe the stars, you will see them
wheel in an endless circle around the north.) So the
Great Bear points to the north, and in Scripture the north is always seen as
the seat of God, so that the whole universe seems to revolve around his throne.
It is said...On earth, when a soul leaves the body, it
journey's to the Big Dipper...rather, the northern most star, which I believe
is "Polaris". Job is being questioned here as to how much he
understands about this.
Now, even astronomy
today does not understand this. There are mysterious objects in space we know
nothing about. These great "black holes" are to us a puzzling,
mysterious phenomenon that we have not begun to understand. So
we cannot go much further than Job in the answering of these questions.
He goes on and
on...referring to the treasures of the snow (Snowflakes, ever seen one through
a microscope?) He mentions that in his storehouses of ice and snow...there is
an energy that will be unleashed on the wicked at some obscure date in a future
time...so evidently there is some kind of force or
power behind the formation of hail, snow in the atmosphere, that scientists
haven't got a clue about as of yet...and probably won't come close to figuring
out.
"Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast
thou seen the treasures of the hail, which I have reserved against the time of
trouble, against the day of battle and war?" Job 22-23
Moving on into
Chapter 39...God continues his litigation, as if he has to,
but he actually gets down and dirty with this crowd. The magnitude of power
that is unfolded in these final books and the knowledge within, is astounding.
When my life is in
turmoil, or if I find myself in doubt of Divine Providence..I always refer back to this book. Its a
good therapy for "Ye of little faith"!
Another highly
prominent figure in Old Testament scripture is Abraham. Abraham was also a
shepherd, like Job, wealthy with flocks and herds. How is it that he was
brought to the attention of the pharaoh of Egypt and the King of Gerar in his travels? Was it simply that Sarah, his wife,
was so pretty? The Jewish records say that Abraham was learned in the science
of astrology and with his elaborate knowledge of the heavens and their meanings
he attracted the attention of these kings.
We know from the
biblical record that God communicated with the shepherd Abraham many times,
several times using the "stars" as a teaching vehicle. YHWH Himself
directed Abraham's eyes toward the heavens, indirectly corroborating the Jewish
oral tradition that says Abraham was a gifted astrologer.
"And he brought
him forth abroad, and said, 'Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if
thou be able to number them': and he said unto him, 'So shall thy seed
be.'" Genesis 15:5
There are 12 signs of
the zodiac...Christ had 12 disciples, 12 tribes of Israel, 12 months of the
year, 12 hours in a day, 144,000 souls referenced in Revelation is 12 squared,
...Twelve is the number that is used very often in the bible...not 10, which is
the number of fingers on our hand and basically a more logical number to use.
In the book of
Revelation, there is this amazing verse..."And there appeared a great
wonder in heaven, a woman clothed with the Sun, and the Moon under her feet,
and upon her head a crown of twelve stars...and the woman fled into the
wilderness, where she hath a place prepared by God, that they should feed her
there a thousand and two hundred and threescore days." (Revelation
12:1-6). The last phrase refers to a time period that
is 1,260 days long. That is an incredibly odd number of days to refer to.
It is my opinion,
that the author of Revelation was referring to the solar eclipse cycle of 1260
years. Every solar eclipse repeats itself in the exact degree of the same sign
every 1260 years. (You may validate this by looking at an ephemeris..
) The Bible often equates a day for a year, which is another astrological
reference because of the "day for a year" calculation of astrological
progressions.
Where does the bible
say a "day for a year"? In Ezekiel 4:6. God says
"I have appointed thee each day for a year". This could be the reason
why astrologers use the day for a year calculation for progressions....and it
works!
There are hundreds
upon hundreds of references to Astrology in the Bible, although some are
obscure, except to biblical scholars.
And Electional Astrology and the Transits appear to be the
background message when Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 says "To every
thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heavens.
A time to be born, and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pluck up
that which is planted, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to break down
and a time to build up....a time to get, and a time to
lose; a time to keep and a time to cast away... A time to love an a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace".
These verses seem to
say...that there is a correct time to do everything and if you choose the wrong
time, you will not be successful.
Astrology and the
Transits are also the likely background when Ecclisastes
continues in chapter 9:11 with...I returned, and saw under the Sun, that the
race is not to the swift, no the battle to the strong,
neither yet bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor yet
favor to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth
to them all. For man also knoweth not his time; as
the fishes that are taken in an evil net.."
These verses seem to
say that everyone can have bad transits, and when they occur, you will not have
the same abilities as when you did not have the transits....for
example, if you were the swiftest runner normally, you will not be so swift
when you have negative transits.
The points to an
interesting thought...that the world would be completely different if there
were no fluctuations in our abilities from day to day. Martina Navratilova
would never lose a tennis match...and Sandy Koufax would always pitch a
shutout...Geez...how boring...and unfair! You would never have a chance at
beating someone who was better than you. But this is not the case... We have
all defeated persons who were better. And we have all been beaten at something
by a person who has inferior skills. The world is much better off with these
ups and downs. It gives everyone a fighting chance and keeps almost everyone on
top from getting to egotistical.
The Star Of Bethlehem
Was there a Star of
Bethlehem...Christs year of birth has been calculated to be between 8 B.C and 4
B.C., and before the death of Herond in 4 B.C. We now
know from records kept by Chinese Astrologers that there was both a comet and a
new star in 5 B.C. We have also learned that astrologers paid close attention
to the rare conjunctions of Saturn and Jupiter, which occurred three times in 7
B.C. These conjunctions occurred in Pisces, the sign
often associated with the Hebrews. (Pisces is the suffering sign) Jesus time period was considered the Piscean Age. The symbol
of Pisces is two fishes swimming in opposite directions connected by a single
cord. During the period of Jesus' ministry...small cave carvings were found
with the symbol of the fish (icthus) and all
throughout the new testament, there are numerous
references to "Fish". (Fishers of men, feeding the multitudes, etc)
The Magi
(astrologers) knew that Jupiter conjunct Saturn was a good event because they
knew that Jupiter over powered Saturn. (At this time,
I have Jupiter in my 7th house of marriage, with Saturn following behind at a
slow crawl...and I hope these magi were on the money concerning that!) The Magi
would have interpreted the Jupiter-Saturn triple conjunction in Pisces as a
positive occurrence for the Hebrews. Perhaps..this
encouraged them to be on the lookout for a new star that would be the sign of
the birth of the King of the Jews.
Two years later, the
Magi would have seen the same new star that the Chinese Astrologers recoreded. When the Magi saw the star, they could have then
set out on the journey to the land of David, as written in Matthew. And its
possible when they arrived, the comet pointed the way to Christ because the
tail of the comet would create a guide as to diretion
and would have appeared to stand over Christ's position.
Blessings of
Providence
There is evidence in
the Bible that God designed Astrology. So you may wonder...since there are bad
transits and negative progressions..why
would I think God (Divine Providence) designed Astrology?
For those of you that
are Moms...or Dads for that matter...Can you remember the way we taught our
babes to walk? In the beginning...we need to hold them up by both arms, and we
help them take those first tiny steps. From time to time, its necessary for us
to let go of the babe's hands and let the little darlin try to walk by itself
or else it will neither learn as quickly nor as well. But we need to keep
lifting it back up by both arms, again and again, until it eventually learns.
This is how transits
and progressions work. When we have good ones, God has lifted us up by both
arms. When we have bad ones, he has let go of our arms. He is always there
watching us, rooting for us, and will help us when we call our
for Him, just the way that parents do who are watching their little babes when
they let go of their arms. That is what good and bad transits and progressions
really are.
And without good and
bad transits, the world would not be as pleasant to live in. Can you imagine
how annoying and depressing it would be if you always lost your tennis matches
to a player who is a little better than you? But this is not the case. When
your transits are very good or your opponent's is a little bad, you will win.
This givees you hope and encouragement to become
better. And it teaches you humility and gives you a reason to work harder. The
world is more enjoyable because of transits. And every once in awhile...the
transits get so good that you accomplish something very meaningful. But to keep
you from becoming so egotistical...some bad transits will occur to keep
everything in perspective.
Transits and
Progressions will even create times of danger... With Danger we learn courage.
In times of struggle, we are meant to attain wisdom, learn self-sacrifice, and
selfless love. And if we have learned enough, we also learn how wonderfully designed
this world really is. And what a perfectly benevolent design Astrology is, one
that could only be created by God.
What about Free Will?
Free will is one of
the most important principles of most religions. Contrary to what skeptics
claim, Astrology enhances free will. To be more precise, knowledge of Astrology
will provide us with more free will than we ever had before.
Our use of
Astrological knowledge provides us with an insight into the timing of when we
have the best chances of success at any endeavor. Too often, people who fail at
a project abandon the dream forever. The abandonment is often forced upon us
due to the enormous cost of the failed project. The failure also impairs our
ability to succeed in other endeavors. It may require a great deal of healing
before we can embark on anything else knew. This is true whether the cost of
failure is financial or emotional. The fact is, any
failure will reduce our free will; and one failure can restrict us from other
accomplishments.
Repeating the verses
from Ecclisiastes: "To everything there is a
season, and a time for every purpose under the heaven". Knowledge of
Astrology and intelligent use of it will increase our free will. We are not
always able to accomplish what we want at the time that we want it. But wise
application of astrology can help us succeed at endeavors at the time when we
are most able to succeed. And this increases our free will, because without
Astrology we would have failed altogether and given up.
Astrological Proofs
of God
Presently, Jupiter is
transiting Gemini and Saturn is making its slow move from Taurus, heading
toward Gemini..right at the
door.
A transit of Jupiter
to your Sun provides good fortune and health, vitality and wisdom, and sound
judgement. At the same time, the positive Jupter
transit also brings you closer to God. Meaning...if you are usually able to
believe in God, but there are that you have doubts...the doubts disappear when
you are having a favourable Jupiter transit..The
planet that represents good judgement and wisdom!
On the other hand,
the doubts about God are powerful when you have a problematic transit by Saturn
to your natal sun or Jupiter! Such negative transits also increase negative
attitudes and varying degrees of depression. When negative transits by Saturn
to your natal Sun or Jupiter occur, you have the most doubts about God. Saturn
is the teacher...it limits and restricts... But it is these
same transit that inflict you with your worst judgement. Therefore, it makes
sense that what you believe during unfavorable Saturn transits is less
accurate, and what you believe during the helpful Jupiter enhancement transits
is more accurate. Since a person's faith in God is greatest during positive
Jupiter transits, it makes sense that all of this
information gives us very strong evidence of the existence of God. Jupiter
expands....Saturn restricts!
In the future...when
you have one of these transits...take note of how you feel and what you
believe. Make sure that such a transit is applying within 0;45 degrees
longitude or 0:20 degrees declination. You will be amazed at the difference in
the way you view the world and your life during these types of transits.
Scientists can save
themselves alot of time...and trouble from trying to
figure out how Astrology works. The forces involved are not measurable by human
means...as far as Science goes.
Science will want to
explain Astrological influences through their language of Physics and other
sciences. But Astrological influences cannot ever be explained in such
ways...neither can they be physically detected. The planets positions and
movements do not actually influence us actively; the planets astrological
positions are "signs" of what is actually influencing us...(Referring back to the Bible, Genesis refers to the
planets and stars as "signs")And since we believe that favorable
transits are really God's gift to us, it will not be possible to detect such
gifts in a physical way.
The fact that
Astrology works...but is not detectable or explainable, will be the closest
thing to proof of God. It is not conclusive proof, but God does not want to
provide us conclusive proof of his being because once there is proof of God, we
would have less free will since we could no longer ignore him. Preservation of
our free will is very important to him.
As with some of my
heavy graphic loading time, I realise this is alot to
swallow at one time, but please bookmark until I can get some
kind of structure compiled. I hope this has been informative and not
confusing...or way out for some of you. If this has offended anyone, my
apologies go out, as it was not my intention in writing. Hopefully, this will
shed the light on any pre-conceived notions about Astrology. At the same time,
understand, as with anything...there will be misuse. All energy comes from one source..and that source is God.
Its neither bad, nor good...we determine the use of that energy by our free
will. So actually to say this is bad, or this is good,
all depends on the individual.
In addition to the
writings here, I plan to incorporate more as time permits. Several people have
requested a comparative online study with the Babylonian Epoch of Creation (The
Enuma Elish) to the Old Testament Book of Genesis.
That ought to be fun! If anyone is interested...email me at star_myste@yahoo.com and
give me some input.

Other Interesting
Factors
Now a further
interesting thing about this 72: a human being is a child of the Universe, and
being its child, its laws are his. Its life is his. Its pulsations are his. The
rhythmic periods in Nature must therefore work through man. One of the greatest
rhythmic pulsations in man is the pulse-beat. Do you know what the average
pulse-beat for a human being is? 72. 72 beats of the human pulse every minute,
or if you like, it is 60 pulse-beats plus the increment of beginning plus the
increment of lapsing into the next pulse-beat. 60 plus 12; 5 x 12 + 12. You see
how these numbers recur? 72 is twice 36. Well, now you remember 360 there, and
36 is 6 x 6. You notice how the numbers thus keep coming, whatever you do. 6
goes 12 times into 72 human pulse-beats in a minute. 6 x 12 is 72.
Here is a very
interesting factor. In enumerating the years of the different planets I intentionally did not speak of the Moon, for your
minds are so enwrapped with the astronomical teachings of the West in which the
Moon is not considered a true planet, that I did not want to confuse you. Yet
so thoroughly does Nature work throughout, after the same laws, the same
rhythms, the same principles, the same pulsing, that do you realize that what
the astronomers call the minor Saros, that is the eclipse-cycles, the cycle of
years in which the eclipses begin again and repeat themselves nearly as they
were before, is 18 years and some 10 or 11 days? We can here drop the days. 18
years: 6 x 3, 12 plus 6, ½ of 36. I want to call your attention to these
key-figures, which keep coming to the fore. Furthermore, this is not all. Do
you know how many is the average number of eclipses in this minor Saros of 18
years -- Solar eclipses and the eclipses of the moon? The
average number is 72.
Here is a very
interesting fact. The sun-spots, according to modern
astronomy, come, or the maximum is reached, every 11 years, and a fraction, 11
and 1/3 or something like that. But here again we must allow for librations; and taking everything together, all factors
included, and the way the Solar System has all its bodies enmeshed together
like the cogs of wheels, yet each having a little independent movement of its
own, which in time changes the pattern -- a very interesting fact is that the
sunspots coincide with the perihelion of Jupiter. Now explain that if you like.
In other words, Jupiter like all the other planets makes its annual tour or
orbit of revolution around the sun, completing it in 12 of our years. But in
doing so at one point of its orbit it is closer to the sun, closer than it is
at any other point of its orbit. That is what they call perihelion, close to
the sun. When the perihelion of Jupiter takes place, the sun-spots
reach their
maximum, roughly
every 12 years, between 11 and 12 years. And it is a remarkable thing -- I
would wager almost anything upon it -- that if we could collect the statistical
data we would find that outbreaks of disease and other
afflictions of mankind will coincide with these 12-year periods, sun-spot
maxima or minima. I saw a calculation of that kind some time ago in which it
was shown that epidemics of spinal meningitis broke out at every sun-spot maximum. In other words when the planet Jupiter was
closest to the sun, every 12 years or so.
Do you know in modern
Western astrology it has been customary to speak of the planet Jupiter as the
great benefic, and the planet Saturn as the great
malefic. But I think that this is pretty near to being
nonsense. I will give you one instance showing how this idea is a distortion of
facts. I read some time ago a very interesting statistical discovery made by a
French writer who showed that whenever the planet Jupiter was in its nodes as
the astronomer phrases it, crimes of violence increased enormously. Whenever
the planet Saturn was in its nodes, crimes of violence were noticeably few. Now
that is easily explained. Jupiter excites, urges people to do and to move.
Saturn calms, brings balance and steadiness, the truth being that every planet
has its good side and its bad, every planet can be a benefic
or a malefic, according to its action. This is true astrology, and all that we
have been talking about is true archaic astrology or Theosophical
astrology.
The Divine Year and
the Yugas
I want to call your
attention to the Table again: a Divine year is the name given according to this
system of archaic calculating of time-periods to 360 of our years or Solar
years. Therefore 12,000 Divine years in Solar years are 4,320,000. Made up
thus: the Krita-Yuga of 4000 Divine years --
1,440,000 Solar years, with the Dawn and Twilight thereof -- a Krita-Yuga is 1,728,000, (and isn't 1728 the cube of 12?).
The Treta-Yuga is 3000 Divine years. Multiply this by
360 to turn it into our ordinary Solar years, and you get 1,080,000 years. Add
on the 2110, the Dawn and Twilight, and you get 1,296,000 years.
Here in the Table you get this series of 144, (the square of 12). Isn't
it in Revelation of the Christian New Testament that it is said that the sealed
unto the Lord, or the saved, shall be 144,000 in number? You see here again the
mystical figure, 144, that is the main point. You can add and take off ciphers
according to the time-period or cycle you are discussing. It is the head of the
series of figures that is important -- 144. The square of 12, twice 72, 4 x 36,
and so forth. So we go down to the Dwapara-Yuga:
turn it into Solar Years, with a Dawn and a Twilight, and you have 864,000;
then Kali-Yuga, the age we are in now called the Iron Age, adding to it its
2/10 for Dawn and Twilight, you have 432,000 years. This system, or
mathematical calculation of adding an opening and a closing of every age-period
or cycle which the Hindus call the Dawn and Twilight, is an extremely archaic
method of calculating based on Nature herself, for she always
introduces everything
she does with a preparatory period, whether of time or phenomena, or both, or whatever you may be dealing with. All diseases come with
the Dawn of preparation. Then there is the disease. Then there is the Twilight
of the disease as it fades out. So to get the full
time-period of the cycle you must know not only the length of the cycle itself,
but its Dawn and its Twilight, its beginning and its end.
You see, Companions,
there are just simply so many sides to a study like this, you could go on
interminably talking just as long as your recollection will bring back to you facts which you have garnered from Nature.
The Pythagorean Tetraktys
I want to point out
to you what is called the Pythagorean Tetraktys. It
was so holy amongst the ancient Pythagoreans that they swore oaths by it, and a
Pythagorean would no more violate an oath sworn by the Holy Tetraktys
than he would -- it was an oath that simply could not be violated. Why did they
think it so holy? They gave the answer: because it adds up to 10. It was 4 plus
3 plus 2 plus 1 = 10. What is 1/10 of 10? 1. Add 1 as a Dawn; add another 1/10
of 10 as a Twilight, and you will have 12. They sometimes figurated
the Pythagorean Tetraktys as thus, one sphere, then
two spheres, then three spheres, then four spheres. 1 + 2 = 3, + 3 = 6, + 4 =
10. Don't you see the Pythagorean Tetraktys, 4, 3, 2,
1, in the Yugas in their numerical order of the cycles? The same figures, the
same system of counting, the same fundamental idea. No wonder the Pythagorean
philosopher swore by the Holy Tetraktys, because it
was equivalent to saying, "I swear by Holy
Zeus," as if he
had said, "Father and Lord of Life, of whom my own life is a spark, truth
of truth, and life of life, real of real," -- it was an oath that no
Pythagorean ever dared to violate. It was like swearing by one's own Higher
Self.
Other Cycles
Now, here is another
thought. Have you been examining the night-sky for the last year or so? If so,
you will have noticed that the planets Saturn and Jupiter have been in near
conjunction for some time, and will soon begin to
separate. [March, 1941] It was the conjunction of
Jupiter and Saturn which the ancients taught always began notable changes and
events on our earth. (Elsewhere in the solar system too, but we are more
naturally interested in what is taking place on our Earth.) Just when such a
happening will come again, with the other planets as now they are, i. e., as they will be on May 11th, of this year 1941,
would require intricate calculations. It may be thousands and thousands of
years before the planets all return to the positions they now hold in the sky;
but the two planets, Saturn and Jupiter, because 5
years of Jupiter equal 2 years of Saturn, will be, so far as those two planets
are concerned, again passing each other in conjunction,
near the same place,
in 60 years: 5 years of Jupiter = 2 of Saturn: think it over, do not forget
these key-numbers.
There are almost
innumerable cycles of varying lengths, and of greatly differing importance,
which were known to the ancients as well as to the few moderns acquainted with
esoteric chronology and cyclical computation. As for instance, there is the
well-known astronomical cycle called the Precessional
Cycle of 25,920 years, divisible by many if not all of
the factors or keys already alluded to, and which in its influence on the
destiny of mankind is one of the most important.
Then, there is the
so-called great Orphic Cycle of 120,000 years, which of course is obviously 1/3
of the still greater and immensely important cycle, because dealing with racial
periods, to wit, 360,000.
The Key-Number 72
With reference to the
key-number 72, which itself of course is a cycle of varying length depending
upon the ciphers added to it, the following series contains cycles, every item
of which on the list is important and well worthy of study by those interested
in chronological or cyclical matters: 72 x 10 = 720; 720 x 2 = 1440; 720 x 3 =
2160 -- an extremely important cycle this because entering into the
computations of the precessional cycle mentioned
above, for there are 12 such cycles of 2160 in the Precessional
Cycle of 25,920.
720 x 4 = 2880; 720 x
5 = 3600 -- a cycle well known to historians and chronologers
as the famous Babylonian Saros, which again multiplied by 100 or 102 equals the
racial cycle mentioned above of 360,000.
720 x 6 = 4320 -- again
a most famous cyclical key-number, well known in ancient Hindusthan
and in Babylonia and in the esoteric or occult schools of virtually all Asia
and ancient Europe, a cycle which with zeros added is an even more important
human racial cycle than is the 360,000 above mentioned.
720 x 7 = 5040 --
another extremely useful, interesting, and important cyclical period, with or
without extra ciphers to define shorter or longer periods, and mentioned even
by Plato in his Laws, as already stated.
The ancient
initiate-astrologer-astronomers rarely failed in their prophecies, for it was a
relatively perfect knowledge of the interrelations of planetary movements and
of other cosmic time-periods, both great and small, which enabled them to
predict with an accuracy of Nature herself events which they knew would take
place because of their knowledge of what had taken place in other preceding
cycles of time; and all cycles are repetitive, bringing more or less the same
train of events or sequences as happened before, when these cycles begin anew.
It should be noted that this is in no sense fatalism; for every cycle, although
repeating itself constantly in time, due to what modern astronomy calls the
irregularities in planetary and other celestial movements, is never precisely
or exactly what the preceding cycle was; for every such cycle beginning anew
its course always differs in less or greater degree from its former courses.

i see this pattern as
describing the precession of the equinoxes with the 12 zodiack
in the center spinning 1/72nd of its journey
it also contains 5
circles for the five elements
and it has a 64 based
triangle that spins around 24 times per completion
in the heart is the
trinity of three in one
the 72 divisions when
drawn out to completion [thin lines in the circles] would total 2556 to create
a completed wheel which is 7 years exactly.
12x72=864
I see it as a fractal
